The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game

1–2 minutes

What is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an open-world, action, RPG (Role Playing Game) developed by a Polish game development studio called CD Projekt Red. The game was inspired by the novel The Witcher written by Andrzey Sapkowski, a Polish writer.

The game is played in third-person perspective navigating the cruel medieval world the Witcher set in, playing as the main protagonist: Geralt of Rivia.

What is a Witcher?

A Witcher is an ordinary person who went through intensive mutations as a kid (if they survive it, which many don’t) and was trained to be highly proficient swordsman to become a specialized monster hunter with an in-dept knowledge of all kinds of monsters, giving him an upper hand. Speaking of upper hands, the Witcher’s’ mutations, along with training, gives him the ability to have cat-like reflexes in combination with the potions his body is prepared to take, enhancing his fighting capabilities.

How do Witcher’s fight?

Witcher’s use mostly swords for combat, but they have two for different purposes: steel and silver. Steel is for humans (animals, too) and silver for monsters (supernatural creatures). But in the world of The Witcher, being a supernatural creature doesn’t always make you a monster, neither does being a human make you not a monster.

Witcher’s also use crossbows as a common use of combat equipment, typically used for taking airborne monsters or killing river monsters when swimming, but naturally, they’re used against normal human enemies.

Finally, Witcher’s can also get into melee combat by throwing basic and hard punches, which is quite rare and is usually for specific missions or side quests like fighting clubs.
